Maranta Red Prayer Plant

The leaves of this plant are flat by day and fold up as the day comes to an end, hence the common name “prayer plant”. It is a species of flowering plant in the family Marantaceae, native to the Brazilian tropical forests. The soft dark green leaves with feathered, painterly-like center makes it a uniquely attractive plant to have.
